Um, are you kidding? From which album? I could maybe give you a top 5 for each, but that's exhausting and useless. As for the new album, I'm feeling it like this: a tie for first place between No Use Crying and Celebrate. then a 3 way tie for number two: Even Smaller Stones, I Can't Come Down, and The End is Near.
Last summer they came to L.A. three times. The second time they held an in-store at Virgin and played a short acoustic set. One of the songs was the cover of "How Come." Danny invited fans to come sit on the stage, so I squatted at his feet and taped the whole thing with my dv cam. Unbelievable. Later that night they played the Troubador with Long-View. I about soiled myself. It was like a religious experience.
March 9, 2005. their first show in the U.S. It was A-MAZING!!!!!! Met Danny in the toilet, asked him if he'd be taking requests--which they did, thank God! I'm so jealous of any Brit who gets to see them perform on a regular basis. It was easily the best show I've been to, and what was more surprising was the 100 or so die-hard American fans who turned up. I thought I was the only one! Everyone sang along (the band was shocked, and flattered), and except for a few idiots who kept screaming for "Dry Kids" it felt like a family affair.
A few months later they played an industry show at the Roxy in Hollywood, that's me all alone in the front in the picture, can you believe I was all by myself like that???? No one here knows who they are! It's insane, Britain, I tell you it's INSANE!
The key to knowing the greatness of an Embrace album is listening to it while driving Mulholland to the beach. This New Day was a perfect compliment to the landscape.
I'm fond of Waterfall. and 3 is a Magic Number. And Don't Turn Your Back On Love. Oh, and the D12 cover, "How Come." I'm a teacher, and I play that for my students who stare at the stereo, heads cocked, trying to figure out where they've heard it before. It's quite amusing.
Last summer when they played here, they busted out a song called "The Contender." I'm praying that it ends up on the b side of something from This New Day.
Ashes, Glorious Day, and Spell It Out. then it's Keeping, Gravity, Out of Nothing, Looking As You Are, Someday, Wish Em All Away, and Near Life.
Um, see above. after those 5 songs, it's this new day, nature's law, exploding machines, target, and sainted. Not that there's any point to ranking them, it's more like a 10-way tie for first.
I don't do that. I'm way out in California, and I don't know--it seems silly. I wouldn't know what to say to anyone. I'm just happy to have lived long enough to hear the new album.
Embrace played an industry show at the Roxy, and a few fans got in to see the set. All the corporate types stood near the back and talked while I stood, like a lone geek, at the foot of the stage singing along with Danny, wearing a home-made Embrace shirt. I pretty much made a fool of myself, but it was worth it.

This must be some kind of British thing that makes no sense to me, because here jelly is slang for a girl's bottom.
Don't have it here, but I can tell you my favorite South Park character is Butters, or Robert Smith in his cameo when he destroyed Barbara Striesand.
Your mom.
Nice to meet you.
we yanks think it's quaint, but we don't understand it.
chocolate.
my parents have a golden retriever. She's awesome. Every cat I've ever had has belonged to a girlfriend who is now gone, along with her cat, so I guess I hate them.
This New Day. Sitting on an empty beach on a sunny day.
going to the dentist.
which one is higher? is 1 like, #1 most mad, or is 10 the top of the madness meter? come to think of it, I'm only slightly neurotic.
I have made an ass of myself in short, humiliating conversations with Pamela Anderson, Tyra Banks, and Jim Carrey. I always put my foot in my mouth.
P.S. Any American Embrace fans out there? We need to band together and convince them to come back and tour.
